British cancer survivor Ken Head starts his daily routine with a 45-minute training session, followed by a 5-10km run and 400-600 push-ups.
In a world where modern life is fast-paced and there is little time for self-care, staying healthy has become a challenge for many. With most of the younger generation living without daily exercise or a proper diet, this 92-year-old grandfather is an inspiration. Ken Head, who lives on Spike Island in Bristol, England, is a former Concorde engineer who has made headlines around the world for his incredible health for his age.
Ken is very health conscious, with running and weightlifting being his favourite exercises. His daily routine starts with a 45-minute training session. Despite having undergone surgery for skin cancer, he is strong-willed and lives life to the fullest. He runs 5-10 km and does 400-600 push-ups every day. His fitness level and humility put young people to shame.
Proper diet and exercise
Ken has a simple philosophy about life – accept it as it is and move forward. He starts his day with stretching and push-ups every morning, followed by a 5-10km run. He also occasionally goes boxing and trekking.
Apart from this, he is very conscious about his diet and eats soaked wheat, oats and chia seeds for breakfast. He said that a bowl of milk with sliced bananas, figs, raisins and nuts is his favourite meal of the day.
Overcoming Cancer
Ken is also a cancer survivor. A year and a half ago, he had an accident while riding an electric bike, which caused severe bleeding in his leg. After several tests, he found that the cancer had progressed in that area. However, he fought the disease and is now back to his normal life. After being unable to run for a long time, he has since returned to his favorite activity.
Ken also participates in triathlons, which involve swimming, cycling and running, and enjoys them as a competition rather than a challenge.
