The Franklin Tech golf team took second place at the Massachusetts Vocational Tournament held Wednesday at Acushnet River Valley Golf Course.

Competing in the small school tournament, the Eagles finished second overall with four players’ combined scores of 313. Upper Cape Cod Tech won with 310 points.
Jack Day scored 75 points to lead Franklin Tech and placed second overall on the day. Gabe Mota finished sixth overall with 77 points, while Braden Talbot (80 points) and Grady Deary (81 points) were the Eagles’ leading scorers. Will Belval also competed in the Tech division, scoring an 87.
“This is a great result for us,” Franklin Tech coach Mike Duclos said. “I didn’t expect the scores that I saw. I’m so proud of them. I’m proud of Braden and Grady for stepping up today. Gabe and Jack are the backbone of our team, as the scores showed.”
