ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 3, 2024 (Globe Newswire) — The American Institute for Research (AIR) is a partnership with the U.S. Department of Education to operate four centers that support national, state, and local efforts to address education issues. selected by. AIR leads three Regional Comprehensive Centers (RCCs) and one national content center focused on fiscal equity. Northeast Comprehensive Center (serving Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont); Based on their experience working with educators in school districts across the Northeast, AIR’s TA experts bring together evidence-based programs, practices, and interventions to inform decision-making and learning experiences. The AIR team, led by Ellen Cushing, will operate the Northeast Comprehensive Center with support from Applied Enterprise Management. Midwest Comprehensive Center (serving Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin). Supporting underserved students is an important part of AIR’s commitment to the Midwest region. AIR will lead the Midwest Regional Education Research Institute, which will build an active, interconnected network of districts, schools, and practitioners to lay the foundation for a TA approach in understanding local contexts and needs. Western General Center (serving Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah). AIR will work with practitioners and education leaders across the region to create and expand capacity-building services that address the region’s most pressing education challenges, such as chronic absenteeism. The West Comprehensive Center team, led by Jenny Scala and Alicia Espinoza, includes the Arizona Rural School Association, Brigham Young University Center for Teacher Education and School Improvement, UCLA Center for School Reform, and the University of Nevada, Reno. .

AIR will also launch a new Center for Fiscal Equity to help states and districts across the country develop fair and appropriate resource allocation strategies. AIR, led by Beth Howard Brown and Jim Colliot, will establish and operate the center with support from partners Afton Partners and the Association of School Owners (ASBO).
