NBC News interviewed three Arab American voters to find out who they’re voting for and why. Abu Ahmed al-Iraqi, a retiree, said he is considering voting for the Green Party this year because of the inhumanity of American foreign policy.

Al-Iraqi, an Iraqi-American who voted for Trump in 2016 and Biden in 2020, said America needs a balance between “humanity” and politics.

“I don’t want my country or politics to stand next to Hamas. But at least I want my children and my family to see humanity for America. I think so,” he said. To save children, to save people. ”

Nasser Eshawe, 68, a retired cashier from Dearborn who voted Democratic in the past two presidential elections, said he would vote for Harris.

“If you look at what happened, things are bad in the Middle East and they will never protect our children. But I still have to vote for them. I like voting for democracy.”

Habib Abbas, 47, a government worker in Dearborn, said he didn’t want to reveal who he was voting for, but it was clear that U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East was ineffective.

“We feel that if this issue is not resolved or contained as soon as possible, it could escalate into something much larger that could impact all of us here in the United States,” Abbas said. .

“The situation is getting worse and worse, and people are very worried, especially many people from the Middle East.”

“There are a lot of people who lost family members. There are a lot of innocent lives that were basically wasted for no apparent reason,” Abbas said.
