Great staff: Proposal strategy and development team

Within the research department, we have a team of five people dedicated to supporting faculty in the research grant writing process. Purdue’s proposal strategy and development team offers a full range of proposal development services and templates, from guidance and templates for single-investigator proposals to fully built-in support for large center-level efforts. Provides resources to researchers.

Led by director Sally Bond, the team includes Amy Jo Gibney, David Stucker, Jackie Thompson, and Alison Troutner, and works with faculty to develop concepts, acquire themes, and create content. We implement best practice strategies from generation to proposal review. “Although it is certainly a fast-paced environment, we enjoy a front-row seat to some of the most innovative research happening across campus,” Bond said.

“We work closely with principal investigators and teams to customize best practice strategies to fit their specific funding requirements, timeframes and project management needs,” Bond added. “We focus on developing storylines to vet ideas and map proposal requirements to clear document templates. From strategy development to help with copy editing and visualization ideas, we Our proposal writing specialists provide hands-on assistance to help investigators create highly persuasive submissions.”

Preeti Sivasankar, vice president of research and innovation, said: “Our goal is to personalize our engagement to fully support our faculty colleagues.Proposal development can be a daunting task, especially when pursuing large, multi-institutional funding opportunities. Our team is here to support faculty with proposal support from start to finish. We believe this is true team excellence.”

In addition to individual support, the team also offers numerous proposal writing resources and grant writing workshops that are popular among faculty and staff.

According to Bond, “We prioritize proposals from large centers and support early career faculty applying for prestigious CAREER and Young Investigator Program funding opportunities.
