Keith Urban’s unconventional fitness secrets revealed during live performance

Keith Urban uses cardio for concerts

Keith Urban relies on intense live shows to stay fit, ditching traditional cardio for the adrenaline rush of performing.

“I love the adrenaline of a live show. I love being able to get a solid two hours of cardio on stage,” he revealed to People magazine. “I’m not going to go to the gym to do two hours of cardio. I’m just as committed as ever, but here I do it effortlessly and end up in really great shape.”

Now 56, Urban credits playing guitar and singing for keeping him in shape. “I sing with a 10-pound wooden board around my neck,” he said. “I love the physicality of what I get to do and how I do it.”

Urban’s high-energy performance will begin a 10-day limited run at BlowLive Theater starting October 4th, and will be in full force at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

His show “HIGH in Vegas” will feature popular hits and new songs from his latest album, including the catchy Chuck Taylors.

“I love the invigorating, bristling, percolating, caffeinated vibe,” Urban said of the song. “And Chuck definitely understands that.”

Interestingly, Urban scrapped his first album in 2023, leaving only four songs to build on his new album, High. “We decided to finish the 13-song album in early 2023 and scrap almost everything,” he said.

Unreleased songs that Urban considers “really good” could be included on future albums. “They’re on a block in the front yard and there’s grass growing around them,” he joked.

Urban is eager to gauge the audience’s reaction to his new music, but he remains calm. “There was too much of the same thing,” he explained.
