LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Saturday afternoon was a safe space for the Lexington community to discuss mental health during the third annual Out the Darkness Walk.

Nick Archer is one of many examples of the event’s aim of supporting everyone’s mental health.

“It’s about bringing things to light, bringing to light the idea that sometimes humans aren’t okay, and helping people overcome that,” Archer said.

This was Roxy Bryant’s second walk of the day. She saw the growth and impact the walk had on people in a short period of time.

“This is a community group where we can all come together and openly talk about our losses and struggles, and it brings us all together,” Bryant said.

Bryant has struggled with mental illness before and has dedicated his journey to himself and his loved ones, but he also wants to make a bigger impact on others.

“I just found someone to talk to,” she said. “You don’t need to be an expert, even if it’s a close friend, family member, or co-worker. Just someone you can open up to. It’s best to just talk to clear the air.” You Please remove the darkness from. ”

Everyone walked toward the bright light to honor a loved one, for themselves or to help a cause, and to help others.
