Role description and responsibilities
Our Dassault Systemes SOLIDWORKS EDU team is excited to announce an in-person internship opportunity in our Waltham, Massachusetts office.
As a SW EDU Team FRC Focused Engineer Intern, you will manage FIRST Robotics content for SOLIDWORKS desktop and cloud apps. Gain valuable practical experience in KOP, field, and visualization.
qualification
· Strong SOLIDWORKS modeling skills
o Applicants must hold at least a CSWA certification
o Ability to build and troubleshoot assembly models
o Ability to troubleshoot and repair imported geometry
o Experience with surface modeling/direct editing is a plus.
o Experience working with C points, cables, and wires in SOLIDWORKS is a plus.
· Experience in FRC is a plus
· Experience with Visualize is a plus
· Platform experience is not expected but definitely a plus
Main actions:
· Build a KOP with last year’s version of commercial SOLIDWORKS
· Build KOPs in xDesign
· Export each file in STEP format using SOLIDWORKS Task Scheduler
· Import fields into SOLIDWORKS and make sure nothing is broken
· Import the fields into xDesign and make sure nothing is broken
· Import fixed fields into Visualize
· Create an updated ReadMe document that describes the contents of the KOP.
· Monitor and update KOPs, fields, visualizations, and edit ReadMe for new updates.
Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. Estimated hourly compensation range is $18.00 to $26.00.
