WebMD Ignite, a division of WebMD, on Thursday announced a new solution to help health plans manage care management programs.
Based in Newark, New Jersey, WebMD provides health information services to consumers and healthcare professionals. WebMD Ignite partners with healthcare companies to help engage and educate consumers.
Health plans offer care management programs to support members with complex or chronic conditions. These programs include care planning, preventive health education, and care coordination. WebMD Ignite’s new solution, called Coach, is integrated into the health plan’s care manager workflow and available to members through a centralized app.
Coach has several features, including a library of educational resources that touch on topics like chronic disease management and health tips. These resources can be organized into specific collections for specific diseases or populations. Coaches can also encourage behavior change by providing features such as goal setting, progress tracking, and feedback.
Additionally, health plans receive reports on member engagement and health trends. This will help you understand where to improve your care management program. Through Coach, your care management team can also provide content and resources for member campaigns like the flu vaccine.
“With Coach in WebMD Ignite, health plan coaches can be call-ready, instantly send digital content, and follow-up,” said Ann Bilyeu, vice president of health and president of the Healthcare Solutions Group at WebMD Ignite. We are now able to provide up-to-date health education.” Email. “We can also see if our members have received and read our content. This allows us to identify high-risk patients who require additional interventions and more proactive patients who are using education to take control of their health. can be identified.”
Bilyu added that health plans that use coaches pay an annual fee based on the number of members.
Coach’s launch comes as many health plans struggle to engage members in care management programs due to a lack of health literacy and individualized support. According to one study, target member engagement rates are only 13%.
“Care managers have one of the toughest jobs in the medical industry,” Bilyu asserted. “They are tasked with reaching out to members who don’t want to be bothered, improving their health and persuading people to take action without meeting in person. They need to know how to teach about their illnesses and illnesses, and they need to understand how best to help members overcome their unique personal obstacles.”
WebMD and Coach’s goal is to “help health plans improve health outcomes, increase satisfaction, and ultimately reduce health care costs through efficient and targeted health management strategies.” added Bilyeu.
WebMD Ignite recently launched HealthHub Interactive, which includes a suite of solutions to support health plans’ clinical programs. Additionally, WebMD acquired Healthwise, a health education, technology and services company, in February.
Other companies that provide care management services include Quantum Health and Accolade.
