Loose Women star Christine Lampard has announced a new career move away from television.

The presenter, who is married to former footballer Frank Lampard, will team up with football pundit Kelly Cates and sports presenter Hayley McQueen for a new football podcast.

Sky Sports’ Not Just Football podcast will launch on October 8 and will be broadcast in an all-female format. The weekly show will see the presenters react to some of the biggest news in football and will also feature exclusive interviews from within the industry.

“What we’re looking for is something in weekend football that doesn’t necessarily get picked up elsewhere,” Cates told MailOnline. “There are so many soccer podcasts out there that it’s really hard to find one that hasn’t finished yet.”

“So it’s not about analysis, it’s not necessarily a deep dive into tactics like the North London derby, but it’s more about the story behind it.”

The Sky Sports presenter said the trio of presenters will be opening up about their personal lives on the podcast.

“We’ve all been through very different things in our lives, and I think we’re going to be pretty candid about some of the challenges we’ve faced in our personal lives and careers,” she said.

“We’re not going to go in there pretending to be three women. It’s not going to be like Loose Women, that’s for sure.”

Cates explained that the show will be “completely different” to the Stick to Football podcast, which is hosted by Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, Ian Wright and Roy Keane. She, McQueen and Lampard have never played the sport.

But she also added: “We have all been influenced by this game in different ways.”

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
