Matt Hardy admits the pro wrestling legend has had a huge influence on his career.

The Hardy Boyz tag team of Matt Hardy and his brother Jeff Hardy have been professional wrestlers for over 30 years. Matt Hardy recently turned 50 years old, but he still regularly appears on TNA Wrestling with his brother Jeff.

Matt and Jeff have won tag team titles everywhere they go throughout their careers, but they are most closely associated with World Wrestling Entertainment, where they became famous and spent most of their careers with World Wrestling Entertainment.・Because I spent my time in entertainment.

Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy looked back on their journey as professional wrestlers and spoke to Fightful about winning a big spot in the match from WWE Hall of Famer Michael Hayes, who has been a WWE producer for over 30 years. While talking, Hardy called Hayes the wrestling legend who had the biggest influence on his career.

Matt Hardy: “Michael is, without a doubt, the most influential person in our career. But I think there’s one thing that has evolved from his original proposal. He talked about ladder matches. At first we were doing a tag team ladder match with Edge and Christian. He said, ‘Hey, Jeff, you’re standing on one ladder and that’s the other. How about it’s like a seesaw on a ladder where you jump down and you step on it and the other guy goes flying off?” He would do a big splash or a big swanton. You can play like this. ”

Jeff Hardy: “Or a twist of fate.”

Matt Hardy: “Michael, that’s like a comic book story. It’s like what they do in the comics. It’s the Wile E. Coyote thing. But then he throws it there. Like the first pitch, we got a seesaw spot there.”

When was the first ladder match between Matt and Jeff Hardy in WWE?

The first tag team ladder match Matt mentions was at No Mercy in 1999, when Matt & Jeff Hardy defeated Edge & Christian in a legendary match that is still celebrated 25 years later. Ta.

These teams also competed in WWE’s first Tables Ladders and Chairs match against the Dudley Boyz at SummerSlam 2000, a great match that is still remembered today. This is another example of these tag teams making wrestling history.
