What is Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale?

Amazon’s October Prime Day event is officially called Prime Big Deal Days, but this shopping extravaganza essentially serves as the second Amazon Prime Day event ahead of the holiday season. If you’ve never shopped during a Prime Day sale before, you may be wondering what exactly that means. Therefore, we will briefly explain it here. This is a 2-day Amazon sale with limited-time offers, flash sales, and discounts exclusive to Amazon Prime subscribers at the lowest prices. It’s usually worth shopping around, as it’s rare to get Black Friday-level prices outside of November. This year’s Prime Big Deal Days event will take place on October 8th and 9th.

When will Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days 2024 event take place?

Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days are October 8th and October 9th this year, so they start today. This transaction generally ends at midnight on October 9th. Some sales may last beyond the set time of the sale event.

How do Prime Big Deal Days compare to Prime Day in July?

There are many similarities between the two sales. The October sale brings back many of the same deals, especially on Amazon’s own devices like Blink and Ring home security devices, Fire TV and tablets, and Echo devices.

The main difference relates to the timing of the sale. Prime Day in July is summer, so back-to-school and outdoor sales are in the spotlight. This includes school supplies, grills, lawn mowers, and more. Prime Day in October brings even more deals for the upcoming holiday season, including kitchen supplies for Thanksgiving meals and children’s toys and games for Christmas.

How do Prime Big Deal Days work?

The idea behind this sale is very simple. For a limited time, subscribers to Amazon’s Prime service receive exclusive discounts on thousands of products and services across the site. These products will still be available to non-Prime members, but members will receive special discounts as many prices are reduced to all-time lows.

When you log into your Prime account and look at the product’s landing page, you’ll see the discounted price if it’s on sale. Usually you don’t need a special coupon code. You also don’t have to use a specific payment method to receive the discount. If you spend your money wisely each year, you can easily save and earn back your Prime membership fees during events.

What products are on sale during Prime Big Deal Days?

Since Amazon sells almost everything, Prime Big Deal Days bonus features also sell almost everything. Whether you’re shopping for tech products, kitchen appliances, outdoor furniture, or household items, October’s Prime Day offers something to save on.

In past sale events, Amazon devices offered the most savings. This includes Kindle readers, Echo speakers, Fire TV, and more. Amazon’s own brands aren’t the only ones seeing deep discounts. You can score great deals on a variety of name brands, including deep discounts on items like laptops, TVs, and fitness gear, to name a few.

Where can I find great deals now?

The CNET Deals team covers all the best markdowns, discounts, and sales from top retailers every day. Whether it’s Woot’s one-day promotion, Best Buy’s weekend sale, or Amazon’s coupon code for a product, if there’s a good deal, we’ll feature it.

Be sure to check out all our deals every day at CNET.com/deals and sign up for the CNET Cheapskate newsletter to get a daily digest of deals delivered to your inbox. You can also sign up for CNET Deals text alerts for select deals during the event and install the CNET Shopping browser extension to ensure you’re getting the lowest prices all year long.
