Although the Hokies are only halfway through the season, it’s a good time to start thinking about who the Hokies could put on the All-ACC team.

Last year, the Hokies had four players named to the All-ACC list. Powell Ryland led the way with 113 votes and made the second team, while Beischl Tuten was also on the second team with 80 votes, and Dorian Strong (53 votes) and Tucker Holloway (73 votes) were also No. 3 All-ACC. I made it to the team. team.

Virginia Tech could be an even better team this year than the 2023 team. The Hokies are 3-3, but some fans may argue that Virginia Tech deserves a 4-2 record after the controversial call against Miami.

He is one of several Hokies to contribute to Virginia Tech’s success and is a leading All-ACC candidate.

Love wasn’t an All-ACC player last year, but he was named All-ACC Honorable Mention, just behind Florida State kicker Ryan Fitzgerald.

Love’s field goal percentage is down from last year, but John’s is an automatic success. His only mistake came against Old Dominion when the Monarchs blocked his kick from 33 yards left.

Love single-handedly helped the Hokies stay in the game against Miami, making two field goals from 50 yards to go and a long shot from 57 yards.

He is elite and has shown he will be kicking on Sundays in the near future.

What more can be said about Antwaun Powell-Ryland is that he is one of the best pass rushers in the country, absolutely devastating the Hokies and wreaking havoc on offensive lines across the country.

Powell-Ryland has already forced two fumbles this year and sacked the quarterback seven times, both of which rank among the top five in the nation.

Antwaun should be an All-ACC selection without hesitation.

Tuten currently ranks second in the ACC in rushing yards and first in the conference in rushing touchdowns.

Since relinquishing his role as the Hokies’ kick returner, Tuten has improved in his role in Brent Pry’s offense, averaging more than 19 carries over the past five games.

Tuten didn’t see much action in Virginia Tech’s first game against Vanderbilt, but he has become one of the most reliable running backs in the ACC.

With P.J. Prioleau assuming returner duties, Tuten won’t get a lot of votes as a versatile back, but he could still be named to the All-ACC First Team as a running back.
