Head Coach Megan Duffy
Opening statement:
“Today is just an exciting day. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be the new women’s basketball coach here at Tech. Obviously, there are many people ahead of me who will lead the team. We have three great upperclassmen and women, and what we’re going to do this year is, with the changes that have taken place over the last six months, we’re going to focus on establishing our culture and making this group better. I’ve been focused on deciding what kind of identity we want to have. Along with some of the other guys, I’ve helped put this group together and with the new coaching staff coming in and what they’re going to be. I’m really looking forward to being a little part of the big picture. As coaches know, we always want more practice. They’re a very hungry group of minds. As we move forward, we will continue to build the best version of ourselves.”
Regarding players in influential roles:
“Yeah, there’s not just one person, but I’ll start with Lani White. She’s a transfer from Utah. She’s a third-level scorer. She’s really long on the perimeter. She can make deflections. She can impact the game defensively. It’s really exciting to see her grow in her new role as a scorer. And Samiha Safran, Carys Baker, And Mackenzie Nelson is here for a year to get them into their new roles. They’re really hungry to grow. That’s going to be the key to our success.”
