Alarmo in action: Nintendo’s high-tech alarm clock turns waking up into a game

Please wake up, baby. The new Nintendo alarm clock has dropped. Yes, new Nintendo hardware is coming in 2024. It’s probably not what you or anyone expected. It’s a smart alarm clock called Alarm. Oh, and it was announced that it was released today. I ran to the Nintendo Store in New York City. Let’s open it and see what it is. Let’s go. This allows you to wake up to Nintendo sounds from various games such as Mario and Zelda. got it. Let’s go. There she is. This is the power cord. Who is this little guy here? got it. I powered up and started moving. But it’s really fast. What you get here is the ability to wake up to different Nintendo immersive themes from the different games loaded here. There will be “Super Mario Odyssey Zelda”, “Breath of the Wild Splatoon 3 Four”, and “Ring Fit Adventure”. You can also choose different sounds depending on how you want to wake up and how you move. Now, this isn’t just about telling the time. It’s packed with smart sensors to track your sleep and know when you’re moving in bed, so other sounds can wake you up more easily. got it. Aral. oh. Oh, that’s a twist. got it. So, twist. Oh, I’ll press it. Oh, that’s telling you. Contains a small Mario font. I like it. Ah, this is how you test it. got it. It’s motion sensing. got it. we are in the office. It’s not a bedroom, but I create a little cozy space to take a nap before going into the sound. You need to set up the sensor zone. got it? That’s all I can do in bed, but I’m comfortable here. got it? The height above the bed should be no more than 8 inches. There are lots of instructions here to make sure you’re placing this in the correct area for the sensor to work, right? Jump into bed to test the alarm, lie down, and press the confirm button . I like that it gives me a good experience before I actually have to wake up in the morning to get it working. This explains that as you move around the bed, you hear more sounds and the character keeps coming to wake you up until you finally get out of bed. No, it’s getting noisy. You know, you have to move around well. Wake up, get out of bed. You can’t just doze off. You better get out of bed. got it? The first game I have to test is Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is my jam when it comes to adventure. Oh, and you can also have Princess Zelda wake up her vocabulary and tell her to fight. Oh, that’s stress. got it. It is best to start with steady mode for the first time. There are various modes. How much money do you need? Will you help me get out of bed? Oh, and Stability mode will remind you to wake up within 20 minutes of your alarm going off. And if you don’t get up within 20 minutes, you’re in a kind of rush. Oh, the little Linky in the fire is so cute. He’s just like, oh, I love it every time you move. You, you, you’re basically punching vocabulary. Yeah. got it. Let’s cycle through some of these alarms so you can get an idea of what the sounds are like. Okay, I’ll wake you up, it’s getting louder. Oh, and this way to wake you up, the smoothie fairies gently wake you up. If you don’t know this game, you’re missing out. You can also set it to shuffle. So if you don’t want to choose every day, it will be chosen randomly. So you can wake up with a surprise. I like it. That means we have 1234567 different themes from each game. You may just hear sleepy sounds. This may help you get comfortable. Do you want to sleep? It feels like walking around in the forest listening to the sounds of the night. Yes, please. That’s what’s being played now. When you set a theme, all fonts, chimes, and sleepy sounds change to it. “Animal Crossing” and “Mario Kart” will be released as downloadable versions. So this is something that will continue to grow. As you add more sounds over time, the sound will continue to change. Alarma packs a lot of features, which may be why it costs $100. Well, this fully featured smart alarm is probably more than most people expect from an alarm clock. But that’s because it has a variety of immersive themes and tracks the quality of your night’s sleep. And by changing all these different themes and sensing movement, you can get out of bed in a different way than ever before. Well, there’s still a lot to test. I need to put this through a real sleep test. If you’d like to try out Alar O, it’s available for purchase for Nintendo Online customers in the US and Canada. However, you can also head to the Nintendo Store in New York City to pick it up while supplies last. Like me, this was just one example of the setup process and I appreciated how helpful it was in making sure this was in the right spot in my bedroom and that I could wake up with just a movement or the press of a button. So there are many options here. It’s very immersive. It’s very cute. I mean, who doesn’t want to wake up every morning and link to their bedside? No, it’s just me. This is so much fun. Well, it may not be the Switch, but Nintendo continues to surprise us, because this is what’s fun. Let us know in the comments. Which game do you want to wake up to first among the various options? I’m still going to play around with Breath of the Wild a little more. I think the more sleep tests you do, the more you’ll see. Thank you for visiting.
