The global medical landscape faces contradictions. While medical professionals are in high demand around the world, many struggle to navigate the complex web of international licensing exams and immigration. This bottleneck not only hinders individuals’ careers, but also exacerbates global health disparities.

Dr Akram Ahmad, an experienced academic with a PhD from the School of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney, encountered this pressing issue first-hand while researching Indian immigrants living with diabetes in Australia. did. One day, he encountered a highly educated taxi driver who was unaware of the licensing exam required for his profession, and noticed a glaring gap in the system. He encountered many similar cases and was inspired to embark on a mission to empower healthcare professionals and bridge the gap between qualifications and career opportunities.

“I was shocked to see so many highly educated people struggling to find suitable jobs,” recalls Dr. Ahmad, Founder and CEO of Academically Global. “It was clear that there was an urgent need in the market for a platform that could guide healthcare professionals toward their desired career path.”

early innings

Born into a struggling farming family in the small town of Sahaswan, Uttar Pradesh, Ahmad didn’t have grand dreams. His initial ambition was to become a pharmacist and open a medical store in his hometown. Little did he know that his path would eventually empower healthcare workers around the world.

Initially, he shared his knowledge about global migration routes and licensing exams through YouTube videos. However, the overwhelming response and demand for personalized instruction led to the creation of Academically Global.

What started with just seven students in the first batch quickly evolved into a global platform. Within just two years, Academically Global has trained around 3,000 healthcare professionals including pharmacists, MBBS doctors, physiotherapists, dentists, optometrists, and nurses. With an impressive success rate of 90%, over 500 students have already secured jobs abroad with starting salaries of over Rs 5 million and experienced professionals over Rs 1 billion.

“We make sure that our students are well prepared before they take the exam. We are the first organization in the world to provide a complete solution to our students in this field,” Dr. Akram proudly said. I will state. Unlike agents that offer partial services, Academically Global provides comprehensive support in the licensing process to help professionals realize their dreams.

Today, Academically has a significant impact with more than 3,000 healthcare professionals enrolled in its programs and students from more than 75 countries benefiting from expert guidance during licensing exams, employment, and immigration processes. It’s affecting me. Beyond the numbers, EdTech companies have helped countless individuals achieve their career aspirations.

Comprehensive support for healthcare workers

Launching Academically Global came with its own challenges. “Navigating complex licensing requirements across countries and ensuring affordability were major hurdles,” he admits. “We have had to make significant investments to build a knowledgeable team and develop a robust platform that can accommodate the diverse needs of our students.

But these challenges also presented opportunities. India’s EdTech industry, especially the healthcare education sector, has immense potential for growth as students look to prepare for national and international opportunities. Academically Global is a homegrown startup that has grown by focusing on providing high-quality, accessible solutions.

The healthcare EdTech platform, headquartered in Sydney and India, provides guidance and resources to medical professionals in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai.

Academically Global offers over 25 exams including Overseas Pharmacist Preparation Assessment, OPRA (Pharmacists – Australia and New Zealand), Australian Medical Council Examinations, AMC (Physicians – Australia), Australian Dental Council Examinations and ADC through live and recorded online classes. Prepare candidates for the above exams. (Dentist – Australia), Competency in Optometry Examination, COE (Optometrist – Australia), Canadian Pharmacy Examination Board Examination, PEBC (Pharmacist – Canada), Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland Equivalency Examination, PSI (Pharmacist – Ireland), Australian Physical Examination Therapeutic Council Assessments, APC (Physiotherapists – Australia), English Language Proficiency Tests (IELTS, OET, PTE) and all related exams in Gulf countries such as Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and UAE.

The platform also helps document verification and writing cover letters and resumes according to standards, providing end-to-end support to ensure healthcare professionals are well prepared for exams and career changes.

“It is extremely rewarding to see students succeed in securing their dream jobs,” Ahmad says proudly. The journey has been rewarding, but not without its obstacles. “Maintaining high content standards, bridging the digital divide and ensuring affordability are key challenges amidst the complexities of global healthcare regulation,” he acknowledges.

Innovative revenue model: How to keep Academically affordable and accessible

Academically’s revenue model is a combination of subscription plans, individual course fees, career services, and bulk purchase scholarships for educational institutions. Tiered subscriptions from Silver to Platinum provide varying levels of access to courses, resources, and services. If you’re looking for more targeted learning, you can purchase individual courses.

To strengthen our student value proposition, we employ effective academic cross-selling and up-selling strategies. For example, students preparing for their licensing exam may be offered a discounted bundle that includes English preparation courses. In addition, Academically provides comprehensive career services such as counseling, resume reviews, and job placement assistance to support students’ professional careers.

To serve institutions and businesses, Academically offers bulk purchasing discounts on courses or subscriptions. This allows organizations to invest in the professional development of their employees while enjoying a cost-effective training solution. Additionally, Academically partners with companies to provide customized training programs for licensing exams as part of onboarding or continuing professional development efforts.

Personalized learning with adaptive AI

This platform embraces technology to revolutionize medical education. Its adaptive AI-based tests provide students with personalized support, helping them overcome weak areas and receive real-time feedback.

“We are dedicated to building a comprehensive learning ecosystem that provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today’s competitive healthcare environment. We offer a suite of services designed to support students throughout their career path,” he says.

Expanding horizons and ambitious growth plans

Looking to the future, Mr. Ahmad envisions expanding academics into new regions and strengthening the service portfolio to address new medical education and professional migration needs. With ambitious growth plans that include a turnover target of over Rs 200 crore in the next two years, the future looks promising for Academically.

For healthcare professionals dreaming of building a career abroad, Ahmad has valuable advice. “Thoroughly research registration requirements and opportunities in target countries. Seek guidance from trusted sources and invest in quality preparation. The journey can be difficult, so be persistent and adaptable. Keep going!” But remember, with the right support and resources, it’s entirely possible to achieve your career goals abroad. ”

With Academically on your side, healthcare professionals can confidently navigate the complexities of global migration and accreditation and turn dreams into reality.
