The Tulsa Health Department will be hosting a free community baby shower for new and expectant parents this morning. News On 6’s Eden Jones joined us live to give us the details.
Breathing new life into the world is quite a challenge. That’s why the Tulsa Health Department wants to help make the transition to parenthood as smooth as possible.
More than 400 expectant parents and families with babies will be in attendance today and will have the opportunity to visit several vendors for helpful parenting information.
There are several classes that cover a variety of topics, including safe sleep patterns, breastfeeding, and more.
There are also special areas and resources specifically for dads.
Byron Dixon, father coordinator for the Tulsa Health Department, said the purpose of the event is to help first-time parents have children and give them the best start in life. spoke.
“We just want our baby to be born healthy and, understanding the high infant mortality rate here in Oklahoma, we want him to be as safe as possible while he’s here.
