Lincolnshire’s autumn coronavirus vaccination campaign has gotten off to a “record start”, health officials say.

Since its launch, more than 15,000 people have received the coronavirus booster jab and more than 25,000 people have received the flu vaccination.

The National Health Service (NHS) said GPs and local pharmacies were “doing everything in their power” to get people vaccinated.

The rollout of the fall coronavirus booster vaccination began on October 3rd.

Steve Clapton, from NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board, said: “We were confident there would be a sufficient number of people coming forward to be vaccinated, but we were surprised at how early it was in the new vaccination campaign.” We didn’t expect that many people to get vaccinated. For our record start.”

Anyone aged 65 and over should receive a COVID-19 booster and current influenza vaccine, as should pregnant women, residents of aged care homes, and people aged 6 months to 64 years in clinical risk groups. Eligible to receive vaccination.

Mr Clapton said: “Almost every GP practice in the county is supporting the autumn Covid-19 vaccination campaign and is also offering flu shots at the same time, and this time more community pharmacies are also joining in. “

“I am extremely grateful to them for their incredible efforts to provide maximum protection to patients in Lincolnshire this autumn,” he added.
