The New Orleans Saints won yet another game late in the first half when Brian Brissie sent a pass through the air and Cameron Jordan pulled it down. This was the third interception thrown by Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield, two of which were deflected passes.
This was the third interception of Jordan’s career, the other two coming in 2014 and 2017, even though he has 62 pass deflections in his career. It is.
His team needed it. After starting the second quarter down 17-0, the Saints entered halftime up 27-24, but their defensive success was a big part of that. It felt like every play with them on the field had a 50-50 chance of either being a huge benefit for the Buccaneers or the Saints getting off the field right away. They’re going to need more drop-ins and take-outs like this if they are to win the day.
