More than 500 children explore careers with ‘Little Employees’ initiative

Doha, Qatar: As the fourth edition of the “Little Employees” initiative continues, the Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), established by Qatar Foundation (QF), has joined with several leading figures to support over 500 children. Celebrating the interim results of the program, which featured the participation of Qatari entity.

Launched in May and running until December 2024, the initiative will give children aged 7 to 15 the chance to explore their parents’ workplaces and gain first-hand, real-world insight into diverse careers. .

So far, the list of key participating organizations in the fourth edition of this initiative includes several ministries and bodies, both public and private, such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Masu. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Foundation, General Tax Authority, General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority, Qatar News Agency, Qatar Airways, Qatar Energy LNG, Qatar Museums, Doha City and Al Rayyan City, General Hamad Hospital, Wifaq Family Counseling Center, START Trading and Services. These organizations demonstrate strong engagement across a variety of sectors, both public and private.

Reflecting on the success of this initiative, QCDC Acting Director Saad Abdullah Al Khalji said: We see this next step as a valuable opportunity to strengthen and expand our strategic partnerships with key institutions across a variety of sectors at the national level. ”

“We encourage businesses and families to invest in this next stage and help children gain practical experience that deepens their understanding of the world of work, which ultimately helps them prepare for future challenges and careers. It will contribute to the development of a generation that is informed, prepared and prepared for the path,” added Al Khalji.

As schools across the country prepare for the October mid-term break, QCDC is calling on more businesses, parents and students to join the initiative. This holiday is an ideal opportunity for families and organizations to engage in “Little Employee” initiatives, as children are often freed from school obligations and looking for new ways to spend their time.

This provides children with an educational and fun behind-the-scenes experience at their parents’ workplaces, while helping to instill a career mindset and culture early on.
