TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Washburn University will host approximately 100 students from 12 area high schools to explore careers and education in the health care professions.

The day will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on October 17th, and participants will tour the labs/classrooms of seven different healthcare programs on the Washburn campus.

While touring the labs, you’ll meet faculty from 10 different healthcare programs and learn about their programs and specialties. Information will also be provided by Washburn University admissions representatives.

“Health care workers remain in high demand. From hospitals to residential care facilities, employers across Kansas are seeking qualified talent to ensure the well-being of their communities. It provides an excellent opportunity for students to explore a variety of career paths as they plan their future educational journey.”

Washburn University faculty and staff will guide students through the day and answer questions.

Faculty and staff include:

Occupational Therapy Assistant Physical Therapist Assistant Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonography Radiology Technology Radiotherapy Respiratory Therapy Health Information Technology Health Sciences Management Bachelor of Science Medical Laboratory Science Public Health Allied Health Department Medical Imaging Washburn University School of Nursing

Students from Tonganoxie High School, Topeka High Learning and Career Center, Perry-Lecompton High School, Topeka High School, Topeka West High School, Shawnee Heights High School, Highland Park High School, and area homeschool students are eligible to register to participate. I’m doing it.

This visit day is free. Only pre-registered students will be able to participate in the October 17 exploration day.
