FIFA signs Lenovo as official technology partner for 2026 World Cup and beyond

Lenovo has been announced as the official technology partner of FIFA, the governing body for world football.

The deal, announced at Lenovo Tech World 2024, covers the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States, and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Lenovo will provide a full range of computing technologies to make the world’s most popular sport smarter and more accessible to fans around the world.

“Lenovo is proud to support FIFA’s vision of leveraging technology to improve the game, improve the fan experience around the world, and foster innovation that levels the playing field.” Lenovo said Yuanqing Yang, Chairman and CEO.

“We are thrilled that our cutting-edge technology and AI innovations will take center stage at the upcoming tournament, demonstrating to the world the transformative power of smarter technology.”

The company said its ThinkPad laptops, tablets, Motorola phones and servers are among the technologies being integrated into the tournament to improve the fan experience and provide enhanced analytics in stadiums and on global broadcasts. It says it will help strengthen and democratize data across football around the world. Countries at play.

Lenovo is already supporting F1 with technology initiatives to help improve fan engagement and broadcast capabilities, something FIFA hopes to follow in the future.
