TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Approximately 500 high school students from Topeka and the Northeast Kansas area were among those who attended the fall open house event Wednesday at Washburn University Polytechnic Institute, officials said. said the person.
The event was scheduled for Wednesday at the Washburn Tech campus, 5724 SW Huntoon St., from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Organizers say the networking event is designed to give prospective students, friends and family the opportunity to learn about training opportunities that can lead to career opportunities.
The program fair will be held throughout the day at the Washburn Tech Conference Center, with student-led tours beginning every 15 minutes from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and from noon to 1:30 p.m.
“Washburn Tech’s more than 30 career programs provide hands-on, interactive learning,” said Washburn Tech Dean Scott Smothers. “Our open houses give prospective students the opportunity to see our instructors, labs, and classrooms in action.
“We welcome the public to attend as this event provides an opportunity for everyone to interact with students and learn about what Washburn Tech has to offer. It’s a great time to learn skills.”
The fall open house is free and open to the public.
