GALLOWAY, NJ – More than 1,100 Stockton University students submitted their resumes for a day of networking and pitching at the biannual Career & Internship Fair held at the Sports Center on Thursday, October 17th. I printed it and showed off my most professional attire.
According to Career Education Development (CED) Director Sophia Abreu ’11, this year’s fair exceeded every goal it set. By 11 a.m., more than 300 students had weaved through the doors and through tables at more than 120 different businesses. He expressed his appreciation for how cooperative and enthusiastic companies have been in preparing for the fair.
This feeling is mutual. Recruiters such as Courtney Jefferson of Spring Oak Senior Living praised the CED team as a “source of support” for students.
Students and employers were given a warm welcome to the fair by student volunteers like Mashrul Pasha Panso, a computer information systems major.
The recruitment and onboarding specialist led a “Working Wednesday” workshop at the Campus Center just the day before and was available to offer wisdom and advice on how to proceed with the fair.
“I loved Working Wednesday because it helped me add value to my resume, role-played an interview, and helped me build confidence as a recruiter, even if it wasn’t a good fit for me. So you always feel fulfilled,” said Jefferson.
“Currently, we are looking for students who are passionate about people and life. We offer a lot of opportunities for growth and are happy to train. What we need is the right fit. All you have to do is find it.”
She is able to meet students like Roberto Vega, a computer science major who is embarking on a career journey, and Catherine Casimir ’21, a graduate of the health sciences program who is considering a transition from her current university. That’s great. Industry and remote work positions.
“The fair was great! There are so many opportunities to be involved here, and I would love to get a job at one of these companies if possible,” Vega said. “I’ve only been to four tables so far: GovTech, ASRC, Spencer’s, and Withum. They all definitely piqued my interest.”
“Due to COVID-19, I ended up working in so many different industries, including human resources, food, health, etc. Right now, I’m definitely looking into medical support and informatics, things in that direction. “I’m considering it,” Casimir said, holding up his iPad to show him a Microsoft Excel sheet with the companies and positions he was considering.
Prior to the event, the Roselle native researched and pre-applied to several companies she knew would be attending.
“Through Handshake, we looked at all the companies that will be participating today and narrowed it down by industry, including insurance, health care, and those that start with ‘NJ’ or the state,” Casimir said. “I listed them, their websites, and their open positions. If I applied, I would let the recruiter know.”
In addition to connecting with future employers, students had their photo taken by the Stockton Chapter of the Public Relations Student Association of America and had the opportunity to connect with alumni who helped them practice their elevator pitch in the student decompression zone. Ta.

Like Spring Oak, Witham sponsored the fair and participated in “Working Wednesday” in addition to its role as an employer for the 2024-25 school year. Both companies also participated in CED’s “Resume Rush,” where over 100 students had their resumes reviewed before the fair.

Annual Career Fair is sold out and full of opportunities

GALLOWAY, NJ – As our campus continues to grow, so too do our annual programs like the Career and Internship Fair, which hosted 600 people on Tuesday, March 5th in the Sports Center. We have reached our goal of serving over 100 students and accommodating over 100 employers.
Employers came ready and eager to meet with Stockton University students and find new members for their teams, while the students, resumes in hand, dressed to impress.
Frank Napp ’23, Live! Recruiter Casinos and Hotels When he first graduated from Stockton’s business program, he said his job search included attending career fairs and searching online. said. “We’re looking for graduating seniors to join the rotations I’m currently doing in marketing, finance, human resources, or any area of interest,” Knapp said. “I would love to hire another Stockton student like me.”
