Pokémon Research Day in October is certainly going to be spooky. The Ghost-type Pokémon Yamask and Galarian Yamask will appear in this event focused on field research tasks. Pokémon GO Max Out Season – Yamask and Galaryamask Research Day
Start date: Saturday, October 19, 2024, 2:00 PM local time.
Ends: Saturday, October 19, 2024, 5:00 PM local time.
Appearing Pokemon – Yamask and Galaryamask
This Research Day will feature Yamask and Galaryamask. These can be found through event-exclusive field research tasks and paid timed research quest reward catch encounters. (During the event, Galarya Masks will also be available in One Star Raid, but it is unclear whether the increased chance of them glowing will apply to raid encounters.)
In addition, Cubone, Zigzagoon, Galar Zigzagoon, Duskal, and Shieldon will appear as wild encounters during the event.

Event-themed field research tasks involving encounters with Yamask and Galar Yamask. The appearance probability of different colored Yas Masks and different colored Galarya Masks will increase. Paid timed research featuring additional encounters with Yamask and Galar Yamask.

If any special event boxes or bundles are released during the event, they will be listed here once the event starts. Daily bundles are also available and can be viewed online through the Pokémon GO webstore.
wild encounter
The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild: Cubone*, Zigzagoon*, Galarian Zigzagoon*, Duskal*, and Shieldon*.

Standard raids and shadow raids will be active during the event period.

The following Pokemon will appear in raid battles.
1-Star Raid: Gastly*, Misdrevas*, Sneasel*, Galar Yasmask*, Zorua*. 3-star raid: Hissian Typhlosion*, Umbreon, Hariyama, Bonvildier*. 5-Star Raid: Giratina (Origin Form)* (see additional notes). Mega Raid: Mega Sable* (see additional notes).
shadow raid
The following Pokemon will appear in Shadow Raid.
1-star Shadow Raid: Shadow Machop*, Shadow Gimmer*, Shadow Execute*, Shadow Sudowood. 3-star Shadow Raid: Shadow Pinsil*, Shadow Sable*, Shadow Mawile*. 5-star Shadow Raid: Shadow Entei* (see additional notes).

A Pokemon with * means “If you’re lucky, you might be able to meet a Pokemon with a different color!” Standard Raid: Giratina (Origin Forme)* will be available after the event (in 5-star raids) until Monday, October 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM local time. Mega Sableye* will be available after the event (Mega Raids) until Monday, October 16, 2024 at 10am local time. Shadow Raid: 1-star and 3-star shadow raids are held daily. 5-star Shadow Raid will be available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) unless otherwise noted by Niantic.
Maximum number of battles

A Pokemon with * means “If you’re lucky, you might be able to meet a Pokemon with a different color!” Max Battle requires Max Particles (MP). A 1-star max battle requires 250 MP. The maximum MP consumption for a 3-star battle is 400. Dynamax Grookey, Dynamax Scrobunny, and Dynamax Sobble will be available in One Star Max Battle after this event until Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 9:00 PM local time. Dymax Farinx* will be available in Three-Star Max Battle after this event until Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 9:00 pm local time.
field research task
Event-exclusive field research tasks are now available, and rewards include encounters with the following Pokémon: Yamask* and Galaryamask*. These Field Research tasks can be found when rotating a Pokestop while an event is active (if there are free slots in the Field Research menu).

pokestop showcase
The Pokestop Showcase will be active during the event. The theme of these contests is to submit the largest Pokemon requested. This section will be updated when the Pokestop Showcase is activated.

avatar items
During this event period, various avatar items will appear in the in-game shop. In particular, the Lucario Mask from Ultra Unlock: Mega Lucario Raid Day’s paid Raid Day Ticket will be available for purchase (outside of the ticket) for the first time. All items will be available for purchase (with PokeCoins) via the in-game shop. These avatar items will continue to be available for purchase after the event ends.
The new avatar items are: Lucario Mask (200 PokeCoins), Solgaleo Mask (250 PokeCoins), Yamask Mask (200 PokeCoins), Festival Mask (Pikachu) (100 PokeCoins), Festival Mask (Eevee) (100 PokeCoins), Pikachu Mask (150 Poke Coins), Subeye Mask (150 Poke Coins), Banette Mask (150 Poke Coins).
Paid Timed Research – Yas Mask and Galar Yamask Research Day Premium Timed Research
During the Yamask and Galar Yamask Research Day events, trainers can purchase tickets to access timed research themed to the event. Get Yamask and Galar Yamask Research Day Premium Timed Research for $1.99 or $2.00 (or equivalent price range in your local currency). This will reward the trainer with the following (if the task is completed within the time limit): Yamask* Encounter and Galar Yamask* Encounter.
According to Niantic, “Tickets are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and exceptions set forth in the Terms of Use).” You can also gift tickets to trainers whose friend level is “Great Friend” or higher. This can be done via the in-game shop by selecting the “Gift” button instead of the “Buy” button. Tickets purchased for friends are also non-refundable.
Please note that timed research quests have a deadline. Trainers must complete this Yamask and Galar Yamask Research Day premium timed research by Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 5:00 PM (local time) to receive all rewards.
