Cardinal O’Malley approves collection of hurricane relief supplies
In the wake of Hurricanes Helen and Milton, Cardinal Sean O’Malley is asking the archdiocese to prepare special collections to help those in need.
Donations will go to Catholic Charities USA, the official domestic disaster relief agency of the Catholic Church in the United States.
CCUSA provides many essential items to emergency disaster relief, including water, hygiene kits, diapers, and blankets.
Pastors are encouraged to hold collections on the weekends before Thanksgiving, Oct. 25-26 and Nov. 23-24. Parishioners are asked to address their checks to the diocese and write “Hurricane Relief” in the memo. All funds raised will be transferred to CCUSA by the Archdiocese of Boston.
