The Lyon University Career and Professional Development Center recently hosted the Fall 2024 Career Expo, with a record attendance of 387 Lyon University students and alumni, as well as community members, at the Garner Recreation Center located in the Becknell Gymnasium on the Lyon University campus. gathered people.
The event offered participants the opportunity to meet with representatives and explore possible career paths, internships and graduate studies in graduate programs at approximately 30 companies, organizations, colleges and universities, according to a Lyon release. .
Recruiters include: Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment, Arkansas Teachers Corps, Bad Boy Mowers, Bank of Cave City, Camp Aldersgate, University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, and Consolidated Electric Distributors. It included companies and organizations such as Inc. and Every Inc. Arkansan/Arkansas Dream Center, Federal Bureau of Investigation, First Community Bank, FutureFuel Chemical Company, George’s Inc., Gränges Americas, Harding University College of Allied Health, Harding University Graduate Admissions, Peco Foods, Southern Bank, William H. Bowen Law School, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Waffle House, Inc., and White River Health.
Lyon University organizations participating in the event included the Center for Career and Professional Development, Center for Transformative Education and Leadership, School of Nursing, ROTC, School of Dentistry, and School of Veterinary Medicine.

Career Expo is open to all students, alumni, and community members, and attendees are encouraged to come prepared by updating their resumes and LinkedIn profiles, dressing professionally, practicing their elevator pitches, and more. Ta. The Career and Professional Development Center provides job and career readiness support to students throughout the year, including one-on-one training in resume writing and interview techniques.
The event’s participants, representing 58 percent of Lyon University’s student population, set a new record for Career Expo attendance. The university said in a release that exhibitors praised the level of commitment from both students and faculty.
