HYROX, a global leader in fitness racing, plans to launch in India in May 2025 through a joint venture with Bangalore-based fittech company Yoska. HYROX India aims to usher in a new era for gym enthusiasts, runners and the broader fitness community across the country by introducing a unique fitness challenge that combines running with functional strength training.

The event will be held for the first time in Mumbai on May 3, 2025, the company announced in a press statement on Saturday.

Founded in 2017 by Christian Tetzke and two-time Olympic gold medalist Moritz Fürste, HYROX has quickly become one of the world’s most popular fitness race series, with races in London, New York, Berlin, Singapore and more. Events are held in major cities. The format features an 8 x 1km run followed by functional training such as sled pushes, sandbag lunges and wall ball squats, providing a comprehensive challenge for participants of all fitness levels.

The company further announced that it will offer categories for beginners and experienced athletes, including open singles, professional singles, doubles and relay teams, encouraging participation from a wide range of fitness enthusiasts, businesses and families, and will open registration soon. .

HYROX India has garnered support from leading global brands such as PUMA, MyProtein, Red Bull and Concept 2. PUMA will be promoting the event across India as the official footwear and sportswear partner. Ahead of the India launch, PUMA has roped in three well-known Indian athletes, PR Sreejesh, Sarabjyot Singh and Ritu Phogat, to participate in the September 2024 HYROX Singapore event.

Commenting on the partnership, Deepak Raj, CEO of Yoska and Country Head of HYROX India said, “We are excited to bring this exciting new sport to India. .”

Christian Toetzke, CEO of HYROX, expressed his excitement over the launch in India and said, “HYROX connects fitness communities around the world and we look forward to bringing this sport to India.” . Moritz Fürste added: “HYROX is more than just a race, it’s a lifestyle embraced by more than 400,000 participants around the world.”

Kartik Balagopalan, Managing Director, PUMA India, said, “The fitness community in India is growing and we are excited to support HYROX’s entry into this market with high-performance products customized for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. ”
