Donald Trump and Kamala Harris remain virtually tied in seven key battleground states, according to the latest Washington Post/Schar School poll. In addition to Georgia, Harris holds a narrow lead in the blue wall states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Trump leads in Arizona and North Carolina, but is tied in Nevada.
The former president was working Sunday at a McDonald’s branch with a fryer, an increasingly personal vendetta and agenda, despite the best efforts of aides to keep him on track. It was the latest bizarre moment in a campaign that is becoming a cycle of bitterness.
The Republican presidential candidate is fixated on the fact that her Democratic opponent worked at one of the restaurants when he was a student.
Meanwhile, CBS News hit back at the former president by repeating false claims that 60 Minutes edited Harris’ answers to make them appear more favorable.
In a statement, the show said the episodes had been cut to be “clear, accurate and to the point” and were in no way “deceptive”.
Meanwhile, Ms. Harris spent the weekend celebrating her 60th birthday, and Mr. Trump raised eyebrows with a vulgar anecdote about golfer Arnold Palmer’s masculinity.

The Pennsylvania rally wasn’t the first time President Trump shared the sordid Arnold Palmer story.
When Trump first campaigned in Palmer’s hometown of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, in September 2020, he is said to have told his team about admiring the legendary golfer’s naked body before heading to the city.

Central Park Five cleared of charges, sues Trump for defamation over comments made at presidential debate
The Central Park Five, now known as the “Exonerated Five,” have filed a defamation lawsuit against Donald Trump over comments he made during last month’s presidential debate.
During the Sept. 10 showdown between Trump and Kamala Harris, Trump said five people: Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salam, Raymond Santana, and Corey Wise. He said he was tried and pleaded guilty to assault and rape of a woman. The victim died while running in Central Park on April 19, 1989.
The former president said during the debate: “They admitted, they said they pleaded guilty. And I said, if they plead guilty, they’re seriously hurting someone and ultimately killing someone. And if they… If they plead guilty, they are saying we are innocent.”
Each man pleaded not guilty during the trial, and the victims did not die.
They said in their complaint that President Trump’s statements were “patently false,” adding that “plaintiffs have not pled guilty to any crime and have since been cleared of all wrongdoing.” Additionally, the victims of the Central Park attack were not killed. ”
The suit alleges that the men were “injured as a result of Defendant Trump’s false and defamatory statements.”
The five men were teenagers at the time of the attack and trial, and maintained their innocence both in and out of prison. President Trump has implicated himself in this story by taking out large-scale newspaper ads calling for the restoration of the death penalty.
In 2002, DNA evidence implicated a serial rapist in the attacks and they were acquitted. They received a $41 million legal settlement from New York City.
