Cosmax, Korea’s largest original developer and design manufacturer (ODM) of cosmetics, announced on Friday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China’s Fudan University Huashan Hospital and 01 Life Technology.

The company aims to conduct joint research on sensitive skin and microbiome in China with well-known medical and research centers of local famous universities.

Based on this memorandum, Huashan Hospital will recruit test subjects and conduct sensitive skin diagnosis, and Cosmax China will analyze the skin condition.

01 Life Technology performs genomic analysis of microbiome samples.

“This research agreement will be a stepping stone to developing microbiome cosmetics tailored to China’s 1.4 billion population market,” Cosmax officials explained.

“We plan to expand our collaboration with research institutions around the world to improve our skin microbiome mapping capabilities.”
