7. Alien Romulus Blu-ray and VHS release date decided

This is the story of 2024 you didn’t expect. Alien Romulus is coming to VHS.

3. Apple gears up to launch Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence launches next week, and we can’t wait to get our hands on Apple’s AI-powered features for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 are expected to be released in just a few days, along with major upgrades to AirPods Pro 2 hearing aids. The first wave of Apple intelligence features introduced the world to what Apple calls “AI for the rest of us,” offering lighting tools, photo editing with Cleanup, notification summaries, and a redesign of Siri. We’ve been using the iOS 18.1 beta for a few months now, and we can’t wait to see how the public perceives Apple AI when it officially arrives. It’s been a long wait, but we finally got to see the first official footage of Severance Season 2. Just 24 hours after Apple invited us all to a big Severance-themed conference, the tech giant has released the first teaser for Severance Season 2. Suffice it to say, the second season of Apple TV Plus’ sci-fi thriller series will be just as weird, wacky, and wild as its predecessor. On January 17, 2025, this highly rated show will make its long-awaited return.
1. Apple told you to “Mac” your calendar

We expected Apple to launch the M4 Mac this month, and it looks like Apple is ready to do just that the moment the buzzer goes off. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s SVP of Marketing, all but confirmed that a new Mac is coming in a teaser, and in a social media post he instructed, “Make your calendar a Mac!” That’s because Apple is set to have an “exciting announcement week” starting Monday.
This is expected to mean new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, a redesigned Mac mini, and updates to the iMac, all powered by M4 Apple silicon. The image of a glowing apple shared by Joswiak is reminiscent of what Siri with Apple Intelligence would look like. So we can also look forward to the long-awaited iOS 18.1 update and mac OS Sequoia 15.1 with its features coming next week.
Beyond this, we’ll likely see new Magic accessories (keyboard and mouse), and perhaps an update or two for a few more Apple TV shows. Check back next week to see everything announced.
