Taylor Swift may have a stranglehold on the Kansas City Chiefs, but the pop star’s influence across the NFL was evidenced earlier this week.
Washington Commanders tight end Ben Sinnott scored his first career touchdown on Sunday as part of the team’s 40-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

No one knew that the commanders had been laying out the mission in their strategy for a little over “two weeks.”
Washington offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury said the caller said “Taylor Swift.” The play was fairly simple. Marcus Mariota ran the play action and fired the ball to the rookie for a touchdown.
“But this is a good one, we’re going to use it again,” Kingsbury said, adding that the playbook includes “a collective” of players named after pop stars, according to ESPN. Added. “This was a new thing this year. After probably three weeks in a row, I was finally able to make the call.”

Kingsbury added that the tight end named the play.
“The tight ends came up with the name, so you have to ask them,” he said. “But I think he must like Taylor Swift on a deeper level.”
Sinnott was selected in the second round of the 2024 draft by Kansas State University.

“I think tight ends are a bunch of guys who like Taylor Swift,” Sinnott said on Commander’s Wire. “So it’s like a group consensus. That’s something I’ll never forget.”
