DENVER (KDVR) — In early October, a man was caught on camera vandalizing a political Halloween exhibit in Denver’s Jefferson Park neighborhood.
“I was a little nervous about putting it on the internet, but people need to take responsibility for their actions,” homeowner Leah Payne said.

Payne posted the video on social media, where it currently has hundreds of thousands of views. Her surveillance video shows a man knocking down two skeletons holding political signs, walking away and throwing another skeleton at her 12-foot-tall skeleton.
“I was just sitting on the couch watching TV and I heard something loud right outside my front window. I thought that wasn’t good,” Payne said. “I don’t want to say I’m not surprised, but I’m not surprised. Considering what he’s done to our garden, I can only assume he doesn’t approve of what’s in my garden.”
In a video from Oct. 6, when the Broncos played the Raiders, several people can be seen walking in Broncos gear, as the home is just a half-mile from Empower Field.
“It’s a great neighborhood. Jefferson Park is really great,” Payne said. “Game day is difficult because you don’t know who you’re going to play.”

Payne said she followed the group down the street, confronted the man and filed a police report.
“I was like, ‘What are you doing? What’s going on? Come clean my yard,'” Payne said. “You don’t destroy other people’s property like that.”
