Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, criticized Hillary Clinton for saying former President Donald Trump’s rally at New York City’s Madison Square Garden was a reflection of Nazi events in the 1930s. repeated attacks.
Walz compared Trump’s rally Sunday night to the “pro-American” rally German dictator Adolf Hitler held at Madison Square Garden 85 years ago, in 1939, before World War II.
“Donald Trump is trying to have this huge rally at Madison Square Garden,” Walz said Sunday at the Canvas kickoff event in Las Vegas. “There are direct parallels to the mass gatherings that happened at Madison Square Garden in the mid-1930s. And I don’t think for one second he doesn’t know exactly what they’re doing there. So look, we said, ‘Everyone is running like everything is on the line.
Trump 2024 senior adviser Tim Murtaugh told “Fox & Friends First” on Monday that Walz’s comments were “offensive” and “he should be ashamed.”

“It’s ridiculous. Here we have Kamala Harris, who Donald Trump is currently losing. I mean, she and her campaign are calling over half the country a bunch of Nazis, and yet she wants to be president of That means we’re doing well,” Murtaugh said. “The Israeli flag was flying in Madison Square Garden. President Trump recently received support from the imams of Detroit and had a Holocaust survivor as a special guest at last night’s rally. And Tim Walz… He came out and said, “It’s offensive and it trivializes what actually happened in Europe at the hands of Nazi Germany and the Holocaust, which killed six million Jews.”

“A quarter of a century later, it’s deeply offensive to downplay it by trying to score political points against America’s adversaries,” he added. “This is a dying campaign, a hard-fought campaign, and they’re throwing everything at the wall they’re sticking to.
