NYC Health + Hospitals Physician Recognized as 2024 “Top Hispanic/Latino Physician” by Castle Connolly

Ten physicians from across the health system will be recognized as the nation’s leading Hispanic and Latino physicians.

September 25, 2024

NYC Health + Hospitals today announced that 10 physicians from the Hispanic and Latino community have been named to Castle Connolly’s “Top Hispanic & Latino Physicians 2024” recognition list. Now in its second year, the list includes 336 outstanding physicians across 35 states and 73 specialties. It was created in partnership with National Latino Physician Day, which aims to increase the number of Hispanic and Latino physicians who provide culturally and linguistically congruent care. All Top Hispanic & Latino Physicians were nominated by their peers and then evaluated by Castle Connolly’s research team along criteria including specialty credentials, education, hospital and professorship appointments, research leadership, professional reputation, disciplinary history, interpersonal skills, and outcomes data. Castle Connolly is a medical directory that helps patients find healthcare providers.

“Social and racial equity are foundational to our values as a health system and part of our commitment to medical excellence. Hiring staff that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve advances these values. We congratulate our physicians for being named to Castle Connolly’s ‘Top Hispanic & Latino Physicians’ recognition list. We celebrate the diversity of our team,” said Mitchell Katz, MD, president and CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals.
