Mangaluru, September 28: On September 28, 2024, St. Teresa School, in collaboration with PTA, hosted a transformative career guidance session for Grade X students. This session aims to help you chart your future career path through an insightful look at different areas of the university. study.

The event began with a prayer by Mrs. Roopa, followed by a moving welcome by Mrs. Thera, who introduced the esteemed resource persons and established an encouraging atmosphere for the day.

Resource person:
Dr. Guru Tej, co-founder and chief academic officer of Wizdom Ed;
Dr. Francisca Rebello, Edpreneur and Wisdom Editorial Co-Founder, Mangaluru
Abhilash Kshatriya, CEO of Wizdom Institutions Network
Mr. Abhilash began the session with an engaging icebreaker, highlighting opportunities in science, commerce and arts streams.

Main highlights:

1. Know your interests: Emphasizes the importance of identifying personal interests as a foundational factor in career decisions.
2. Plan your actions: Encourage students to make informed choices, set clear goals, and prioritize tasks effectively.
3. Reality Testing: Addresses common dilemmas regarding stream selection influenced by external pressures such as parental expectations and peer comparisons.
4. Explore your options: Provide guidance on subject choice and its impact on your future career, highlighting the importance of mathematics as a particularly important competency.
5. Career Insights: Provides comprehensive information on a variety of fields including engineering, medical and emergency medical sciences, biotechnology, computer science, food and hotel industry, and more. The relevance of entrance exams like CET, JEE, NATA, NUCAT, MET was also highlighted.
6. Align career choices with personal interests: Encourage students to pursue careers that resonate with their passions and aspirations.
7. Skills Development and Educational Pathways: Provides insight into essential skills and educational pathways associated with diverse career paths.

The session continued with Mr. Tej sharing thought-provoking stories about sculpture and highlighting the importance of time management and soft skills, as well as statistics about students pursuing higher education in India. He discussed the growing demand for careers in clinical fields, engineering and business, and urged parents to actively support their children’s interests in these fields.

Dr. Francisca emphasized the important role of communication skills in career advancement.

The Career Guidance Session was a great success and provided important information and resources for both students and parents. This emphasized the importance of making informed career choices and inspired students to pursue their passions with confidence and determination.
