SAN ANTONIO – The University of Health is partnering with Bexar County Commissioners Court to host a drive-thru clinic to prepare for flu season.
University Health would like to provide our community with the option to receive a free flu shot.
According to University Health Department medical staff, the best time to get a flu shot is September and October, as flu season lasts through the fall and winter.
Influenza is a highly contagious virus that can cause symptoms such as nasal congestion, cough, severe body aches, and fatigue.
In some cases, you may be hospitalized.
To ensure you protect yourself and your family, University Health is offering a free flu shot drive-thru event to avoid the risk of getting sick.
Other tips Dr. Lopez advises to keep people safe are to stay home if you’re sick, wash your hands often, cover your coughs and sneezes, and seek medical attention if necessary.
There are four vaccination events people can attend.
The first event will be held on Saturday, September 27th from 8 a.m. to noon at Freeman Coliseum.
You can get your flu shot without getting out of your car.
