We are now entering the season for influenza and RSV. We are also facing a possible “winter wave”.

In this light, below is a good overview of important information about vaccines against coronavirus, RSV, and influenza. This table was created (and released into the public domain) by Katelyn Jetelina, author of the popular public health newsletter Your Local Epidemiologist. It is especially important to note that influenza vaccination willingness is declining in the United States. This reduces immunity at the community level, increasing the risk of influenza epidemics that can make people sick and strain health systems. In this context, vaccination of yourself or your loved ones becomes even more important to reduce the risk of infections and serious diseases.

It’s also especially important to talk with your health care provider about vaccine eligibility, the best time to get it, and the type of vaccine you should get, such as high-dose or supplemental influenza vaccines for people 65 and older. .
