Xbox Research expands collaboration with developers

Xbox Research has expanded to include developers and partner with product teams to provide data insights to improve our tools and services.

The purpose of the expansion is to capture data that can “address pain points and improve the experience for partners across the various disciplines involved in bringing games to market,” the company said in a blog post.

The Microsoft division has been researching games for more than 20 years to improve the experience from player feedback.

The methodology used to collect this data mirrors that previously used in player research. Open to all developers, even those who haven’t released their games on Xbox.

“We want to hear from everyone who works in games and supports game studios, because we want to make your life easier,” said Deborah Hendersen, lead user researcher. Because if you can do that, it makes the game better.”

“If you’re making a video game, we’d love to hear from you. If you’re not using Xbox, we’d love to know why. And if you’re using a competitor’s product, we’d love to hear from you. If so, you probably have a great perspective.
