Student Health Services (SHS) is pleased to share new initiatives to support student health and wellness. Two 24/7 health care kiosks have been installed on campus, and both the Center for Advocacy, Resources, and Empowerment (CARE) and the Student Health Outreach & Promotion (SHOP) are new to better serve students. We have moved to another location. This fall, SHS will once again offer vaccine clinics, flu and COVID-19 vaccinations, and expand mental health resources through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).
Read below to learn how to access Student Health Services’ many resources.
In partnership with testandgo, Student Health Services installed two healthcare kiosks on campus. These machines provide UCSC students and the campus community with 24/7 access to medical supplies while promoting sexual health and overall well-being.
Location: The kiosk is located outside the Cowell Student Health Center, across from the Bay Tree Campus Store.
Features:
STI test kit: An easy-to-use kit that tests for several common sexually transmitted infections. Sexual health products: A variety of items are available for purchase, including condoms and pregnancy tests. Plan B Emergency Contraception: The morning-after pill is stocked for timely access in unplanned situations. Sanitary products: Tampons and pads are readily available. Cold/Flu/Pain Medicine: Over-the-counter medications can help manage common illnesses. Narcan and Fentanyl Test Strips: These resources support harm reduction and opioid overdose prevention. COVID-19 self-test kits: Rapid, budget-friendly antigen tests are available.
Healthcare kiosks remove barriers to care and foster a judgment-free environment by discreetly delivering health products. Kiosks provide sexually transmitted disease testing kits and emergency contraception to help students make informed choices. Narcan and fentanyl test strips are included so students can respond to crisis situations.
