Explore a career in healthcare at PCC’s Practical Career Fair on October 2nd.
The Pitt Community College Health Sciences Department announced a career fair to give the community a closer look at the college’s medical programs, facilities and training methods.
The event, scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, will showcase Pitt’s state-of-the-art simulation hospital and feature a variety of hands-on presentations and training scenarios, allowing medical professionals from a variety of fields to provide quality patient care. Demonstrates collaboration to provide care.
“Our goal is that by the end of the career fair, local high school students will have a better understanding of the health care careers they can train for here at PCC,” said Tiwana Lawson, PCC Health Sciences Dean. Masu.
“The combination of an aging population and a decline in the number of health care workers is creating a shortage of health care workers like we have never seen before. PCC Health Sciences is working with community partners to fill this gap. We work together,” said Kendall Commodore, co-chair of the career fair with PCC’s Tami Flynn.
Representatives from all 23 PCC health sciences programs will be at the exhibit to discuss curriculum, career options and special admissions requirements, Flynn said. She said attendees will also learn about Pitt’s student support options, including financial aid, counseling, and disability/accessibility services.
“This is our third career fair focused on promoting careers in health care. This is our third annual career fair focused on promoting careers in health care. This is an opportunity for the community to see PCC’s many different types of medical professionals trained and committed to providing excellent patient care. It provides an opportunity to see first-hand how they work together to achieve this goal,” says Flynn.
Participation in the fair is free and no advance registration is required. Parking is also free and located outside the William E. Fulford Building. The event will be held in the Davenport Multipurpose Room in the Craig F. Goss Student Center and in PCC’s Fulford and Herman Simon Buildings.
Public and private high school students visit in the morning and early afternoon. Homeschoolers and the general public can stop by between 2-3 p.m. and 4:30-5:45 p.m. when the final mock tour begins.
