ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A local event that helps kids explore a variety of career opportunities is back.
On Tuesday, more than 1,000 local students attended the third annual ROC With Your Hands career exploration event at the Rochester Community Sports Complex.
The event featured opportunities to explore career paths in fields such as advanced manufacturing, skilled trades and automotive technology.
The event was hosted in partnership with a number of organizations, including Monroe Community College and Rochester Works.
“ROC With Your Hands events are attended by students in grades 7 through 12,” said Bob Coyne, executive director of the Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association. “In Year 7, you can come multiple years in a row to explore different opportunities and hopefully train to get hired by these great employers by the time you graduate.”
