AUBURNDALE, Wis. (WSAW) – The first heavy rains of the year are now impacting crops, but one Auburndale agriculture teacher saw an empty field and made a new plan.
Normally, this time of year, the fields at Auburndale High School are full of corn and sunflowers.
This year, inspired by deer, FFA created food plots containing 15 different types of plants. The aim is to plant different plants and study which animals are attracted to the area.
“A few phone calls and some community partners in the midst of difficult circumstances made this truly remarkable,” Auburndale High School AG teacher and FFA advisor Mark Cornoyer said. Ta.
Eden Aschenbrenner, a sophomore at Auburndale High School, said, “I really learned how our entire community comes together, like the people who are doing different things to instill this issue.” ” he said.
Test Day will be held on Saturday, October 5th from noon to 5 p.m., with the FFA Meat Auction beginning at 8 p.m.
In lieu of the Sunflower Fundraiser, there will also be food and raffles benefiting Toys for Tots.
