Amy Vandiver, Ph.D., assistant professor of dermatology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, is the American Federation for Research on Aging’s 2024 Sagol Network Gelomics Award for her omics research focused on mitochondrial transcripts and their potential as indicators. Award (Junior Faculty Division). Effects of aging on RNA-seq data.

Omics is a rapidly evolving interdisciplinary scientific research field that includes genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and other omics. It focuses on the collective characterization and quantification of pools of biomolecules that are transformed into the structure, function, and dynamics of one or more organisms.

The $150,000 Sagol Network GeroOmic Award will pursue a career in the field of aging research and GerOmics with a focus on biological and chronological aging of animals and humans, comparative omics of animals with different lifespans, and animal omics. This award is given to young faculty members who are dedicated to their work. Aging-related interventions and treatments.
