The City of Arvada is welcoming a new Colorado nonprofit to the community.
Crosspurpose, a faith-based nonprofit that fights poverty through career development, officially opened its doors in the city Wednesday. This is our third location after the great success of both our Denver and Inglewood locations.

“I never thought I would learn so much here and grow so much as a person,” Dajanae Segodia said.
Now, Segodia is turning that knowledge into a career in management. She also leaves behind a past filled with uncertainty.
“You get stuck at work, working to live, working, living, just paying the bills,” she says.

She says none of that would be possible without CrossPurpose.
“We’re really focused on the individual and asking, ‘What’s the three- to 10-year path to actually get out of poverty and create wealth?'” CEO Jason Jantz he said.
Now they will be able to serve the people living in Arvada.

“This is our largest space and probably our most beautiful space,” Jantz said.
The location, located in the northwest Denver area, has multiple classrooms for training, with interior walls displaying alumni’s art and stories. CrossPurpose also provides free mental health care.
Their organization is joining Bridge Campus. Once an old strip mall, it now offers a variety of support services in one location.
Jans says it’s needed outside of downtown Denver.
“The suburbs are facing unprecedented levels of poverty as many people in poverty are leaving Denver and dispersing to the first-round suburbs,” he added.
For Segodia, who graduated from the program in July, the program’s expansion means more opportunities for people like her who are looking for more than just living paycheck to paycheck.
“I’m really excited to see what happens,” she said.
CrossPurpose plans to open a fourth location in Aurora next year.
