PHOENIX, Ariz. – Arizona Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake has slammed her Democratic opponent, Rep. Ruben Gallego, as a “radical” after an interview in which he disparaged President Trump voters resurfaced. has accused him of being a “radical.”
“Isn’t that terrible?” Lake said after Fox News Digital reported Gallego’s comments that people who voted for Trump in 2016 were “stupid” and “the worst people in the world.” said in response.
“He’s lying about who he is,” Lake added. “He’s trying to portray himself as a moderate, which is funny, if not more dangerous.”

“Right now he’s running all kinds of ads trying to claim he’s a moderate, but he’s actually spending our federal dollars, our taxes, our money, supporting sanctuary cities and states. He’s voted against securing our borders every step of the way.”He’s in favor of open borders, and he actually plans to defund police departments across the country. He is a co-sponsor of the George Floyd bill.
Lake went on to tell Fox News Digital that Gallego has “never been serious” about spending and doesn’t have enough power to advocate for women’s sports.
“He wants biological males to participate in women’s athletics,” Lake said. “I mean, this is the end of women’s sports. Did anyone ever play sports? I did a little bit, but that’s the end. I mean, if you have to compete against biological males. , What is the purpose of playing women’s sports?

Lake added: “It’s just crazy and he couldn’t be more extreme than this.”
Both Mr. Gallego and Mr. Lake are trying to win over independent voters, especially in Maricopa County, the state’s largest county, where independents make up one-third of the electorate. Lake told Fox News Digital he was optimistic he could win the votes of Arizonans who are not Republicans.
“I believe that independents are going to work with me. I think we’re doing pretty well. Our polls show that we have the support of independents,” Lake said. said. “And I think a lot of Democrats are Democrats, but he (Gallego) hates Trump supporters and he hates Republicans. I don’t hate Democrats. In fact, I don’t like them. I believe that Democrats who embrace this will help us turn the corner.”
“They look at Kamala Harris and Ruben Gallego and realize, wait a minute, this is not the Democratic Party that I formed all those years ago, the old Democratic Party was about the working class. The old Democratic Party wanted a strong economy for everyone, but this Democratic Party is a bunch of globalists who would rather spend more money helping illegal immigrants than Americans. I’m thinking. ”

The average Real Clear Politics poll has Gallego leading Lake by about seven points, but Lake told FOX News Digital he believes the race is very close. , said an internal poll showed it was within the margin of error.
“We have to go out like we’re 10 down, but we’re not 10 down,” Lake said. “This is a very close race. Like I said, considering he spent $75 million, I’m proud of that. The fact that there is is incredible. Chuck Schumer is panicking about Arizona, he’s spending $5 million a week on Arizona. ”
Lake told Fox News Digital that Democrats are in a “tailwind” in Arizona because most voters are focused on other issues, such as the economy, and efforts to bring abortion to the polls have not materialized. He said that’s because they don’t connect.
Lake also criticized Gallego’s career before entering politics. These include his involvement with a bank that deals with illegal immigrants, allegations of harassment from a 20-year-old intern while working at City Hall, and his time at City Hall. An ambulance company was under investigation on suspicion of fraud.
“Arizonas know me, they trust me, and I love them. I want to represent all Arizonans, even those who may not vote for me,” Lake said. . If you choose not to vote for me, I hope I can get your vote, but I still want to represent you and do a great job for you in Washington, D.C. Masu. We need decent, honest people coming back to DC and Ruben Gallego. He wasn’t honest before he entered politics. ”
Fox News Digital reached out to Gallego’s camp for comment but did not receive a response.
