McCormick spokeswoman Elizabeth Gregory said the ad was “another expression of desperation for Bob Casey, a politician with a shaky career.”
Republican critics also called attention to the ad’s strange lack of mention of Casey’s support for Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris. The senator did not appear with Harris at recent rallies in Erie and Washington Crossing.
Republican state Rep. Russ Diamond said Mr. Casey is now “running ads that are pro-Trump.”
“He knows Kamala will lose,” Diamond posted on Facebook.
