The Boston Public Health Commission announced Friday that the clinic will not require an appointment and no insurance or ID will be required.
Healthcare workers prepare to administer the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine at Boston Medical Center on June 17, 2021.
Boston will hold multiple vaccination clinics throughout the city through Nov. 7 to encourage residents to protect themselves from influenza and COVID-19 as the cold season approaches, the Boston Public Health Commission said in a statement. Then he announced.
BPHC says no appointment is necessary to receive the vaccination. Bringing your insurance card and identification is encouraged but not required, the statement said.
Surgeon General Dr. Bisola Ojikutu said vaccines are the “most effective” way to prevent coronavirus and influenza.
“Throughout the fall and winter months, we strongly encourage all Boston residents to receive up-to-date vaccinations and to stay home if they have symptoms of a respiratory viral illness,” Okjiktu said in a statement.
In addition to the free vaccination clinic, BPHC said it will launch a campaign to provide information on how to keep residents and their loved ones healthy and safe from respiratory illnesses. The campaign, dubbed “Stay Healthy Boston,” will be implemented on MBTA buses and subways this fall, according to a statement.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone six months of age and older get up-to-date on influenza and coronavirus vaccinations.
