MOBILE, Iowa (KTIV) – Finding the career path you want to take is a challenge for most high school students.
More than 300 middle school and high school students from four schools in northwest Iowa packed the Woodbury Central High School gymnasium Friday morning.
Dozens of booths from area businesses and organizations will be set up throughout the gym and in the parking lot, giving students from Woodbury Central, Lawton Bronson, Kingsley Pearson and River Valley the opportunity to learn more about what to do after graduation. I gave it.
“They get to see 30 different businesses and career paths. It’s a really good situation for kids to be exposed to different career options,” Woodbury Central High School Principal Dan Bowman said.
Woodbury Central has been hosting Career Exploration Days for several years now, and Principal Dan Bowman says it’s a great way to introduce kids to unexpected careers.
“A lot of times kids go to university or vocational school and think they know what they want to do, but they end up changing. Being able to expose kids to different careers is great. I think the sooner the better,” Bowman said.
It’s an opportunity for students to speak directly with experts from a variety of industries.
