RED BLUFF – Companies will be presenting high school seniors with plenty of new opportunities at the second annual Salisbury Career Day on Oct. 18.
“We’re really showing our students the different paths they can take. Not everyone is college-centric, but this means they know it doesn’t matter. “With determination and drive, you can succeed in whatever you choose,” said Tammy Williams, Student Services Technician at Salisbury High School.
“Salisbury Career Day is a day when we invite local businesses, trade schools and some universities to help students learn what the real world is like when they graduate,” Williams added.
This casual event features music, booths, games, merchandise, and more. The event will be held from 10:40 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and only high school students can participate. A booth will be set up for students to pick up their “passports.” The passport will be signed by the visiting group. Students have the opportunity to consider why they are interested in a particular profession or career.
Williams said last year’s event was very successful. “Last year we had 14 vendors participating, from SPI Clains to KNVN to Results Radio,” she said.
Salisbury High School has been serving students for over 40 years.
“Salisbury University staff believe that we have a responsibility to ensure that our students have the full range of educational opportunities available to them, but even more so is the fact that we put our students first as individuals. “Salisbury University provides a student-centered learning environment where staff work closely with students on a one-on-one basis,” its website states.
Salisbury High School in Red Bluff primarily serves high school seniors and seniors ages 16 and older.
